I was feeling very stressed out on Friday, so I embraced a walk around the neighborhood with my spouse. Surprisingly he suggested we checkout the Salvation Army near our place. He had never been to it and I hadn’t visited since December of last year. So I said sure why not. We went and after a while of browsing the kitchen and living sections, I walked to their book section. Unexplainably I was drawn to the title of a book and as I picked it up to open it, I noticed a random note written to another motherless daughter back in 2021. I couldn’t believe it. Not only that, but there was a receipt for a body massage at a spa. I thought that was interesting because back in February of this year I had to book a last minute body massage to help me with the crippling muscle tension I felt due to the overwhelming stress. It turns out the book is about grief and coping with it.
Since I’ve been struggling with my grief, I took it as a positive sign from my mom to keep processing and healing. I typically do not buy books (I rent them for free from the local library), but I ended up buying it.
